What is your time at Mid Ohio? Maybe AI are too slow for you because I was not fast when created it.

8 years later- I just ran this track with the "newer" configuration in my 89 carset season.

I am able to run a 1min 8.6sec lap. I did this in qualifying trim. The trick for me was running a soft suspension (20% shocks) with the maximum camber I could get away with so that the tires temperature was even across the surface. I ran 33psi pressures. The wings were both set at 16.6 degrees. I felt the car was glued to the track this way. Very easy to catch if it slid a little - I could react. I felt I could not make a mistake. Very enjoyable. I had the difficulty cranked up to 100% with 99RELS and I would have finished in the top 10 if I didn't have a suspension failure! I did a 100 percent length race. When I was trying to figure out a setup I really struggled until I softened everything up to 20%. That was the ticket.

I was totally unaware of this thread having joined this forum in 2016. Wow! So many great tracks here. The pre-1987 Laguna Seca is wonderful. Sometime ago, I came across clips from old CART races there, and I was actually thinking, wouldn't it be great if I could drive this on ICR2 because it's so much faster than the modern layout!

What else is in these forums that are buried???

But Nascar still used length of 1,95 for av. speed calculations.

Here is an LP update for Pavel's magnificent portland track (1992-2004 config)

All 9 LP files are included, you only need 8 of them if you are interested in keeping 2-wide starts (which most of you will want probably) - if this is the case, keep your original "pace.lp".

I increased the difficulty and made them much faster.  I focused on getting a perfect racing line and late braking so the AI are tough to pass and keep up with.

Good AI overtaking? is that easy to edit? i wouldn't mind having a go at it but i am rather time limited unfortunately
