Problem settings controls in DOS (XP)

I have set the Dos version of ICR2 on my laptop, to test tracks with it (the laptop is my current edit computer), but I can't set my controls with it. Whenever I enter the controls menu it switches everything to Mouse X> or Mouse X<.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Unplugging the (usb) mouse did not do the trick.

I sometime get this problem. But I have three Icr2 installs (Cart, IRL and Sprintcars), so I simple copy controls.cfg from one of working installs.
