2006 IIRS Dirt Survivor
#1
This year we are making a change in traditions here at IIRS. The Survivor At The Glen event will skip one year and in its place we will be racing sprintcars around the legendary Eldora Speedway to determine who is going to be the IIRS Dirt Survivor 2006. The goal is to simulate an entire single day winged sprintcar event that is going to be very similar to the way these are run in real life.

We encourage everybody to join in the fun of this event. Don't think that you would not stand a chance against the regular oval series runners because racing on this very fast half mile oval over very short distances is going to be so much different from what we are used to in the IIRS Ovals Series that anybody could win this one.

There is no need to sign up in advance, just make sure to submit your results before the first deadline, which will be the 2-lap quaifying run. Due date for this run is 11/12

Check out the details at the Dirt Survivor 2006 page at the frontpage of the IIRS site.

Questions can be asked in this thread.

Enjoy the racing!!

Interesting, something totally different than running a track anyone can practice on the year around. I will make sure to get my results in soon. Is there any chance of a sort of benchmark being posted?

If you look more closely at the setup at the IIRS site you will see that speed determines in which heat you're placed, not whether you pass on to round 2. I think you have a good benchmark based on the qualifying speeds.

The results for the qualifying have been uploaded at the site. The heats are available there as well. Remember, in this case it is not so much important to be the fastest overall, but the fastest of your heat.

Heat 1 will give quite a show, with two (former) ovalchampions, one former rookie of the year and one racewinner (first race = first win).

Posting the results has been delayed sligtly due to injury on my side (once again...). That also means the next due date will move slightly. More on this later.
