Can’t load garage?

Hi all,

I recently got a new computer and went through GPLaps’ excellent tutorial again. The game is running well with one exception: when I try to go to the garage, I get the message “Can’t Load Garage.” Anyone ever seen this before? A cursory web search didn’t find much.

Hi,
Is it happens when you enter practice/race session and try to go to garage or after driving on track and then go to garage? If first then maybe track folder is write protected so garage couldn't create temporary setup file or change existing. If it happens after driving then maybe there is not enough memory because of replay.

Also is this happens with default game carset?

Thanks for the reply. It happens on initially loading the track, so I’ll check for write protection when I get home. I believe I only used the modded carset (2020 from here). I’ll check with the default also.

All that I have checked, which includes some default and some downloaded from here.

Update: seems to only happen with the mod carsets. I did go in and make the track folders not read only.

try one of my carsets...

I don't exactly know how the garage works, but there must be some sort of 3do files missing in certain carsets that the garage needs... Pavel will undoubtedly know more than me about this.

Garage use player car ind95.3do from carset and then loads garage.3do object from Objs.dat. Also garage needs val05 and pen08 mips from carset. If carset use usual names for cars 3do files (and don't know any carset with different naming) then everything should be ok.
