Rules IIRS Endurance Series
After carefull consideration we have decided to slightly change the rules. These rules have taken effect in round 1 and will be used during the whole Series.

In normal IIRS races time is only counted per race. Therefor, whatever time you're back, as long as you're on the lead lap there is no problem. When different race times are added together we have a different situation however.

To simulate the endurance racing we introduce a lap down rule. In simple terms, if you're on the lead lap, but more than a certain amount of time behind the leader, you will lose a lap. To explain this with a simple example:

We have a default laptime of 2:00.00
Emerge Motorsports is the leader.
Emerge America is 1:39.9 behind.
Both cars are on the lead lap now.

Emerge America loses 40 seconds on Emerge Motorsports, who are still the leader. Emerge America is now 2:19.9 behind Emerge Motorsports and loses one lap. Emerge America is now 1 lap down AND 19.9 seconds. If Emerge America wins back 30 seconds in the third stint they will back on the lead lap, 1:49.9 down.

In case a team does not finish a stint on the lead lap (for instance 28 laps), they will be added 2 minutes time for each lap and 1:59.9. As it cannot be controlled where one driver is during the race, the team will be put at the end of the lap.

These rule are set up to ensure you keep on having a goal to race for and to allow the results to look more natural.

If there are any questions, please ask them in this thread.
