ICR2 Install Tutorial

Hi,
I'm afraid here on forum you will not find any info about SecondWind patch. Hatcher, Secondwind developer, is active from time to time on Gplaps Discord channel https://discord.com/channels/79107933242...8419878912 You can try search there for help, but I don't like discord because all useful information always gets lost in endless chats there. Forums are better IMHO...

Make sure the secondwind.cfg file is actually being loaded. I made the mistake of it not having the right encoding. If you copy one of the other CFG files in the Windy folder and use that as a base, it will not work.

It is best to create a new TXT file in Windows, add your values in that and then rename it to secondwind.cfg.
Hopefully that helps.

That problem you have where it says "cart racing for windows" across the top, i think it might be fixed by unticking the "direct draw" option box in graphic settings (2nd page i think). Give it a go and see if helps

sharangad was helping me trouble shoot an xbox wheel for a friend. I would imagine you can try the same steps to get your xbox controller working.

Thank you so much for the information you gave me, but it didn't work. I tried 4axis, 4axis_,2, and auto, but nothing.I know my controller works and ICR2 works, but I still can't get the controller to work. It will not even calibrate. I uninstalled everything, and tomorrow I'm going to try to install IRC2 again. Is there anything I need to do differently? How do I reset DOSBox mapper file?

Can you post your zipped up log files, email them to support@nirvtek.com ? In rlauncher click zip log files. An explorer view will open with the zipped up log files.

I'm Thomas and pretty new to the forum. I played ICR2 a lot in the past and I want to get back in the saddle, certainly with all the great patches and mods made you guys!
I tried Sharanga's Rendition version but for some reason I keep having trouble with the cycles. So I wait for his update next year. I think I had a 3 week mail marathon with Sharanga, he has been a great help, but unfortunately without a happy ending!

So then I wanted to give Second Wind a go. Downloaded everything, followed GPLaps instructions but for some reason it doesn't come in widescreen.
My external screen is attached to my Acer Nitro 5 laptop with a GeForce GTX1650 card and through the nividia control panel I can change the resolution. But whatever I change in there, it keeps giving me the same screen.
So the laptop screen is 4:3 I guess and my external screen is completely filled but it's not widescreen and I always have this "CART Racing for Windows" bar at the top. So it seems to be windowed.
I enabled 640x480 in compatibilitymode of windy.exe and changed the DPI settings but with no succes.
I also added the config file.

What am I missing here? Can anybody help me? I searched a lot on the forum but I'm pretty stuck here.

Your problem is that the combination of Intel uhd630 graphics won't properly switch resolutions when the discrete card requests it. The wrapper thinks it's running at 1080p, but the game itself seems locked to 640x480.

Check if you have a dosbox. Exe profile in both the nvidia control pane AND the Intel control panel. I think second wind is having the same problem. Try running it on the Intel GPU instead of nvidia. Second wind only uses direct draw so no 3d; it should run fine on Intel m

Thnak you all for the replies!
So I created a new cfg file with notepad. Copied the values from gplaps into it and saved it as secondwind.cfg.
Also I let windy.exe run through Intel UHD630 but nothing changed. Apparently it still isn't reading the cfg file I created. Still no widescreen...
Any more ideas???
