Quick question. I have always assumed that since i have CART racing, instead of ICR2, my game is the latest version. What I mean is that I thought that my CART.exe v1.00 is actually the same as Indycar.exe v1.02. However, I have the two bugs mentioned by Nintendork (the mouse default settings and the cars passing under yellow). Anybody knows for sure which DOS version came in the CART racing CD? I would have assumed that the problems had been corrected by the time the re-release of the game with the CART racing name occurred.

the dos version that came with CART racing is 1.0 and there is another bad bug:

-when you driver for too long the car becomes very bad too make turns.

I remember in 1999 I wrote an email to sirra and they said that the patch was only going to work in the indyII version of the game. So I only run the Windy.

if you copy he control file for someone who uses dos and have wheel configure it may work.

Can someone who has their wheel setup upload their controls file? I want to see if that will work.

You mean it still defaults to the mouse?

Does your game say 1.02 now when it loads up?

Did it go through your game directory and replace/modify all the track and system files?

Yes. I isntalled the patch and it still reverts to the mouse when I try to change the controls. I bought this game 6 months ago and I still havn't been able to play it right.

"How do I setup controls for ICR2? How do I race with my wheel? For some reason the game won't let me change the controls. When I push enter to change them it just changes the controls to "mouse x". What do I do?"

DID YOU TRY TO PRESS "J" WHEN MENU GETS CRAZY?

PROBLEM: JOYSTICK CALIBRATION SETTINGS AREN'T SAVED

If you are using a joystick/wheel in Win95, make sure it is calibrated in Win95 Joystick Properties (found in Control Panel). Before starting the game, delete the file CALIBWIN.VAL from the ICR2 folder in Windows Explorer. This will get rid of the previous calibration information in the game.

Next, start the game. Go to OPTIONS, choose CALIBRATION, then move the joystick to all its extents. For wheels, turn the wheel all the way to the right and left and return to center. Press the gas pedal all the way down and back and repeat for the brake pedal.

After the wheel is calibrated, you can set your controls. Go to OPTIONS, then SET CONTROLS. Click the "Modify" button next to STEERING. This will bring up a box that says "Set Control Gesture" and "Steer to the left, then right." Use your joystick to steer left then right. The box may automatically disappear when you move the wheel to the left, but it should say Joy 1 X Axis <>. If it does, do not try to set steering again. This can cause the problem of steering backwards when you get to the race. Set the rest of your controls the same way, clicking on the arrow and following the directions in the SET CONTROL GESTURES box. Make sure no two gestures are set the same.

In some cases, particularly with digital controllers, calibrating the joystick in the game can cause interference. If you are still having problems, delete the CALIBWIN.VAL file again. Then start the game, DO NOT calibrate the joystick in the game, and set the controls.
