WIndy.exe has never exactly worked for me on Windows 10. What compatibility settings are you using? It seems like every time I try it, it has a different strange issue every time. Last year it would start the Detroit intro at like 2 FPS, and slow everything to a halt. I tried it last night with DGVoodoo2, it worked once, but after that, the exe would close seconds after I opened it. It seems like the EXE files operated differently back then. Anyone here experienced that? Where the WIndy.exe closed shortly after it opened? The one time it worked for me last night, it brought up an error about DirectSound or something, a dynamic entry point. But loaded te rest of the game with zero issues, except it did go from fullscreen to windowed automatically mid-race. But looks like it picks up the controls way better, I could hit 240 mph at Indy without crashing or even much effort. But does anyone here know why the problem above with the auto-closing is happening?

Yeah, it works now that I've tried the CART version, slightly newer.

Just tried Sierra Cart Racing version, works fine on W7 64bit, even without installation - I simply extracted the content of abandonware iso file in a folder and started windy.exe, no compatibility mode. Haven't tried upscaling with dgVoodoo yet.

Yes, Cart Racing version works on W7 and XP OS without problems unlike Windy from Indycar release.

Bumping this again to say I've been playing around with Reshade and the CRT_Royale filter, and after some tinkering you can get some decent results. Big one is it has a blur effect which sort of gives a brute force anti-aliasing to the game. Not perfect but it is a bit easier on the eyes. Works well if you use dgVoodoo as a base. Still some playing around to do...wish there was a straight "blur" filter for Reshade (time to Google!)
