Detroit downtown circuit (WIP thread)

@checkpoint10, there's a slight problem with braking assistance on this track.
I know users here don't use that. But to make my life easier I have it turned on. There's one section just before a right turn near braking is constantly engaged even while accelerating and the car struggles to move forward. Another thing is high detail mirrors are enabled by default, even when medium (low really, game default) mirrors are set. Switching to high mirrors using [ALT+M] causes the game to chug, but the mirror views are identical to medium. Not sure if this is a MIP map issue.

I don't know much about braking assistance but I can only guess that it is based on one of the AI lines. Not sure why there would be a problem, but there are parts of the circuit that is particularly slow, so maybe it has to do with that?
EDIT: My wrapper updated itself to the Aug 28 build and I noticed Detroit Downtown now runs slowly when I have mirrors on. This was not the case in the previous version. Is there any configuration that has changed? EDIT 2: Never mind. I tried again and the frame rate is good, even with high mirrors. Not sure what was going on previously. Not sure why there would be a problem, but there are parts of the circuit that is particularly slow, so maybe it has to do with that? The issue with the mirrors is that with the built-in tracks mirror detail is at medium. [alt+M] cycles through high-none-med. With detroit Downtown hq, medium mirrors are high already and toggling to high kills the frame rate without no actual change in the mirror detail level. I think this is a mip map/lod issue. Toggling to high mirrors at startup in detroit hq will kill the framerate. If you dissect a stock rendition hq track, is there anything different about the meshes or textures? I'll take a look at this tomorrow. I'm not very good with blender. I don't have any other modelling software. The braking assist is probably ai related, but I think it's preconfigured and not done in real time, though I could be wrong. Also your track needs a higher skill level than the stock ones. The replays work much better on real hardware for pretty much every single track. [EDIT] Maybe if we can sort the mirrors out, maybe we can use more TEXTURES, by maybe flagging them as detail levels. It might just be the image editing tools for .mi4 et Al aren't doing the best job. [EDIT 2] mips are just decreasing sizes of textures, dividing edge sizes by two. There must be somewhere to indicate which mip levels to use at each mirror detail level.

To clarify, I don't have a problem anymore. I am getting the full 30 FPS at Detroit Downtown even when I turn on full mirrors.
I am however still getting the stray pixel lines on the cockpit, although this is not a big issue. Just letting you know since you had indicated in the other thread that you may have fixed it.

You need to launch dosbox from RLauncher to update the runtime environment. The installation folder and the execution folder are different.they were designed to be different in case dosbox or the wrapper crashed locking the files until after a reboot. If the installation folder ends up being locked, store updates would be locked. In the execution folder the files will be renamed when you hit launch in rlauncher when locked.
RLauncher should llist these versions:
You'll have to run from RLauncher for dosbox and staging separately because staging goes in a subfolder. I meant for everything to be run from RLauncher. I'll add code to remember the last tab in the next release. This is a video of 1.0.24 in action, without the stray pixel line: https://youtu.be/QF89PTjRW48 [EDIT] @checkponint20, if you've already run dosbox from the launcher, I'm sorry. It's entirely possible I messed up somewhere. But after you said that I did test the build that I uploaded to the store and it appeared to work without the line. Please let me know how you ran Dosbox. I don't get much feedback after each release so I have no idea how or what users are doing.

I started driving at this track tonight trying to get some time in the car with icr2. I started last and made my way up to 4th. Does anyone else think I made the AI too easy? I learned a few things since these lines were done so I'm thinking of improving them. I have my game set at 100% difficulty and the RELS in the TXT file are at 100 now.
