My guess is that when the game thinks you are in the pit lane, it will stop drawing the AI cars in order to save system resources. In the meantime, the AI cars carry on just fine and I can still hear them and then see them again once I get out from the sand trap.
Oh- I thought you were talking about the AI cars going wide.... that was something I observed and I thought I corrected enough for it.
Funny- last night I was driving Pavel's 1985 meadowlands (I'm trying to learn the circuit- as it's the next race in my 1999 season). I got caught between the pit-wall and the track in the gap that is in between. This is the rare kind of thing that happens every now and then, which I can't explain. I must have driven over 100 gallons of fuel at meadowlands and this happened only 1 time.
speaking of PIT TXT values..... I find it a pain that you can't see the pit-lane in SGE. I am completely ignorant to using the track editing tools but it would sure be easier to do the PIT TXT numbers if you could see the pit lane. Is there an easy way to do it that I just don't know? I am getting comfortable in SGE for getting radius measurments and 500ths DLONG values, but that's all I know how to do.

Try loading the track in SFE. You can set the units to 500ths and click on the features (e.g. walls, asphalt) for each segment and you should be able to find the DLAT values that are relevant to PIT.

I've tried it with the version 1.0.2, but the game crashed again.
The error message this time is different.

I can't explain- what version of dosbox are you using? I use dosbox "ECE" edition, 32 bit.

I use DOSBox 0.74-3, the newest one, downloaded last Friday.
I see, you posted a similar error in post #56.

DOSBox 0.74.3 is the newest of the "stable" versions, but it does not have the same features as ECE. (I am not suggesting that ECE will fix this problem). ECE is more advanced, I had to go with ECE (or Daum) because the other game I play (grand prix 2) does not run at correct speed in the standard dosbox .74 versions.
I do not know why the track is crashing on your computer. I was originally having a similar crash which I posted a screenshot of, but that cleared up when I made some changes to the text file and LP. Pavel might be able to help more.
Has anyone else had issues getting the track to work in race or qualifying (with other cars on the track?) It works fine for me- you can see in my youtube videos.

A few other things I can think of to try:
- Try running with a different carset and/or different number of cars
- Does this also happen on other tracks?
- Check the DOSBox config file and see if the CPU parameters are set to the default "auto"
In case I had somehow mixed up the files, I just re-downloaded the track from post #77 and confirmed that it still works on my DOSBox 0.74. It is strange that the same ICR2 program would behave differently in the same emulator.
As samsepi0l mentioned, if anyone successfully made this track work in race or qualifying, please let us know.

I got a crash when starting a race using one carset, but when I used a different car set it worked fine.

Can you try my carset? Any of mine are basically the same. 1985, 1999, or 1989. Interesting noting the variables.
I wonder if increasing or reducing the number of cars in PIT will help?
don't forget- I did turn it up to 30 (which works for me) but maybe it's causing problems for others... Dennis- maybe you can modify the value of CARS in the TXT file to something lower? (I would love to understand this together)....

Track works fine for me using your 89 and 99 car sets.
