This time we have the following: - More track side objects - bridge and billboards - I made the track narrower, previously it was too wide and easy ;-) - Pit lane has been painted and is operational Edit: removed attachment. Looking at the photo I also think I was a little generous in the amount of sand runoff along the back straight. My next step is to learn how to apply adverts to the walls, this will mean a rebuild of the .3D file so it will also be an opportunity to fix these few things in the layout. I would also like to ask the community for help with the AI. I have to accept that I do not have enough driving skill to put together the correct kind of laps. Is anyone willing to help me with this? The track length is 38614501 in case you need it. I will absolutely make the AI. I need to know how many records it should have. I have done AI for many of the roadcoarses. I am pretty picky about AI as I like it to be nice and realistic. Let me know when the track is close to "finished" graphics wise, and when you are very happy. Did you get a chance to add any more buildings? In the latest zip file above, I did include my attempt at doing AI which works in practice session but crashes the game for the race. No additional buildings in the latest version, but I will prioritize adding brake markers & other track side objects since they may help with the actual driving. Longer-term goal is to get other hotels and casinos farther away in the distance, but getting a minimally completed track - with AI that doesn't crash the game - will be the priority. The track layout itself is probably not going to change if you want to practice for now! I am curious how quick you can go around this track. I have a hard time breaking 34 seconds. RE: Caesars Palace Track Beta RELEASE!!!! - samsepi0l - 04-02-2020 Without brake-markers it will be hard, that's why I was hoping to wait until you get more of those details in. I have been playing grand prix 2 a lot lately and when I drive at a track without brake markers I really struggle. It's different when there are lots of signs on the walls you can use, but I need something to be repeatable. In grand prix 2 with trackeditor it's super easy to add them (many of the fan-made tracks are missing them) With it crashing the game with only 590 records it probably is too short. Maybe it needs 591 or 592. I remember Pavel had this issue with medowlands (the older one from 85). Also- don't forget the Track.txt file. You will need one of those. I did a bunch of troubleshooting the 'yellow flag' but I was getting at homestead (I think back in 2018?) and I learned a bunch there. I documented my findings on here. I think there are values for green flag drop and pace lap that I have not changed from the default. I don't know if that would make a difference to the crashing. Grand Prix 2... now that's another great classic game. It never ran well on my computer at the time but I spent a lot of time painting cars with GP2edit. |
