I using DosBox to run Indy500 in XP and it works very well. I also using little program called JoyToKey to use wheel with this game.
Kakukri: I ran the setup utility and now I have sound. Together with very good framerate my ICR2 is running very well. Thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated. Now the only thing left is wheel support but that thing is in the attic because I lost the little brake ability that it had left in it completely a couple of months ago
I might try to repair it, I don't think I will buy another wheel soon. I have been racing too little for it to be worth the money.
Also, I have installed Nascar1 and Indy500 on my DOSemu and both work, although I don't get any sound for Indy500, Nascar1 works really well. I don't have an onboard speaker that I remember was used on Indy500.

Try the attached start.bat file for the Indy 500 game, and you should get sound.

The start.bat file that I posted is for the original Papyrus game, Indianapolis 500-The Simulation.
When it is 2008 and there isn't a 2007 Indianapolis 500 carset posted anywhere. I think that pretty much answers the question..

There was one in the working, but unfortunately the creator got caught up in real life.
