Thank you! The cars are now lapping in the 1:39 range at 100% strength which is more realistic.
Just a couple things I saw - on the right hander onto the back straightaway, sometimes I see the AI running wide into the wall there when racing with others. Also in that same turn, as well as two corners after that (a right hander leading onto the shorter straightaway towards the convention center), an AI running by itself will change direction mid-corner (i.e. they turn right, and then slightly darts left before completing the turn as normal).

Trust me know and I have been losing sleep trying to fix this. I spent probably 4 hours today messing with it. For some reason my AI especially does not like the left right where the track gets narrow after congress. I have a slightly improved version- but it's not perfect yet.
We need a way of making "smooth bell curves" in the position graph manually. Like- where I can enter in position values and it will interpolate me a mathematically perfect curve.
I think the other thing that is hurting me is that I have the same situation I dealt with in t12 denver, where the corner just simply does not have enough LP-records to get a smooth line.
I will make the LPs better, this was just version 1. I know they need a lot of work.
Really appreciate your efforts here. Have you tried using AIEdit to visualize and edit the problem spots?

yes- I couldn't get the AIEdit (the program) to work with denver.. I need your help here...

Just a thought - maybe look around WolframAlpha.com, see if they have anything that can help.

I am sure ChatGPT can write some code to do that, if we ask it.
I raced here a little today with other cars. The AI I'm using is about 4 hours more advanced than what I uploaded the other day. It's a little better but still needs work. The good news, is the AI was fun and competitive to race against. I got my heart racing trying to get by Rahal!
I think there may be some wrong number in the track.txt PIT line. There was a nasty yellow flag bug and I looked briefly, but it looks like the 3rd and 7th values are at the end of the track (around 70 million)
I wasn't sure if this was something that was just overlooked or saved for the end.
I am trying this for my PIT:
PIT 204000 70908181 4487187 72338881 2806693 424250 4487188 32 71978881 72338881 2986693
as for the "bell" curves in the LP files, I think excel has a way of doing an interpolation like this. We have excel at my work so I can mess with it when things are slow at my job. Right now I want to continue to tune the LPs and fix this track.txt
Last night I looked closer into the problems I've been having with the AI where the track narrows down and they turn right onto Larned st.
I think I made some good progress... I think the majority of the problem is caused by the pass1 and pass2- I think they are moving too fast here for the lines I gave them. They also will need a wider approach into the corner.
Here is how I saw it.
I took pass1, and temporarily renamed my race and pass2 files. I made 2 extra copies of pass1 and then I temporarily named these copies race and pass2. If you cut opponents to 1 car- you can make the AI drive only one specific line this way.
I did the same thing (vice-versa) with pass2.
This makes it a little more obvious and I'm dissapointed that I didn't try this earlier. I will continue to fix this.
