I think the stig did the geometry on most of these, we will just need to do objects/graphics/LPs/Testing and Track.txt

Houston late 90's (crashes)
Detroit '99 "yellow flag bug" - you did post a reply regarding that but i have no idea what it should be set at to solve the issue, any ideas?

Try running houston late 90's with a different carset- it does not crash for me.
Cut and paste the PIT values on the text file for Detroit. I should be able to see it here if it has a yellow flag bug.

I have no plans to remake houston. Pavel did an excellent job and it does not crash on my machine. I did extensive testing and a full 100% race here when I ran it in my 1996 season. I think the crash is related to your carset like many others were experiencing with Caesars. Try one of my carsets (89,99 or 85). If you have something else going on, describe how it crashes and maybe we can figure it out.

(04-22-2020, 12:40 PM)JR82 Wrote: [ -> ]FWIW the pit values are -
PIT -360000 68467886 70482185 70083000 1975523 -544000 7327426 28 69983000 69983000 4384216

Check out my values for RIO:

TNAME Rio
SNAME Rio
PIT 288000 46387780 10999999 53000000 3173078 546333 11000000 32 51000000 45000000 3600000

Values #3 and #7 are 1 apart. Try changing yours like this.

In my opinion due to my testing, values 3 and 7 are the DLONGS of which the CC cars switch from PIT to Race, or PIT to Pace (depending if it's yellow or green)

You have 70 million for value 3, and 7 million for value 7. Without even looking at Detroit to know how many DLONGS it has, I can tell you from experience it is a hell of a lot more than only 7 million.

My guess is that you should try changing the value for value 3 to 7327425, which is 1 DLONG less than what you have in value 7.

I do think the Detroit 99 track that was made (the one I saw on youtube) was very detailed and excellent- I just don't like that track configuration as much as the original older "hard to pass" version. Probably because I went there (in real life) in 1995.

Thx for the feedback will give it a go. if it turns out another carset works with Houston i am ok with leaving a diff track in it's place, it's just that it has an issue but it works for others find another way around it, even if another '99 carset (for example) is the fix. As far as i remember those are the "reynard2k" carshape carsets that i use for those yrs.

My 99 carset that I am using right now is a reynard carset. All my carsets are the same, I just repaint them. It's posted on here if you want to download it. There are videos on my youtube of my carsets.

As far as houston- The track I have is amazing. It is one of Pavel's masterpieces. The only thing I ever adjust on his tracks is little details in the track.txt, and I make new LPs (because I find I can out-brake opponents too easily)

You were right, i simulated a 100% distance race with the default carset & not an issue. is the '99 carset u use in the forum or linked elsewhere? i'll also need '00 & '01 carsets as i think they are made by the same person. thx very much for the advice.

Is there a known Homestead '96/97 version? i have the '98/99 etc version but am not aware of the '96 one.

Just had a look in the archive, it could even be the "cart2k" carshape sets i use i am not sure i got them that long ago. seems 1 works with houston one doesn't....

96/97 is the Indy style one? Tjerk made that one.
Yes- there is an "indy" (4-corner) style homestead. I have it. I will zip it for you.

That fix has sorted detroit & the '99reynard carset works on Houston.
I was using the cart2k carsets.

I was using the cart2k carsets.

After about 25 years I finally have confidence that I understand that PIT/track.txt info.

Maybe in another 25 years I'll learn how to make objects and track graphics!
