Hey! I was just wanting to know the status of your lb05 AI tweak.
I don't want to rush you, I'm just wanting to do a single race there and I noticed the AI acts a bit funny. Thanks!

I have just started to re-look at the AI on Long Beach. Can you give me specifics on where you are seeing issues. Any feedback would be great.

I know about how the cars corner a bit "square" and I'm working on fixing that.

Hey! I just want to let you know I haven't forgotten about giving you specifics about the Long Beach 05 AI. I have so much college accounting homework, that its very hard to find time to do anything else. It will probbaly be a few more weeks before I can help you with that in some way if you are still interested. I'm sorry I can't help you sooner. Thanks!

I wish I could dedicate more time to the sim but, alas, earning a living (and gears of war) are getting in the way.

How much experience do you have with track editing? We'd likely get more work done if we both were able to tweak it.
Hey! I've finally through for the semester with college for now! I hope you will be able to notice this reply. I got around to observing the AI at long beach 05. They corner squarely the most around the first few corners, the worst part is around the fountain. They don't even approach the apexes. They corner squarely in the 90 degreee left and right handers just before the back striaghtway. They also corner pretty squarely around the slow left hander just before the hairpin leading up to the pit striaghtaway.

Oh, and I have zero experience with track editing. the most I've ever done is edit the opponent strength or change the type of wings the cars are using with the track's .txt file.

Finally got around to seeing your post.

Firstly, your feedback is appreciated! Unfortunately I'm at a loss on how to correct the problems you've outlined. For comparison's sake, see if you can find the original AI for that track. Compared to what it was, things are better.

I'm far from an expert on developing AI so I don't know what to do to correct the squareness of the corning. The .lp files are smooth so I imagine it would require a lot of trial and error to correct. I don't have that kind of time.

I have had a discussion about that on another track with someone. He asked whether to double apex a turn or go around it smoothly. It's a matter of style I guess.

Be happy I didn't run the laps, you would find a turn way to take a turn and have trouble to find a name for it Grin I can assure you that one would NOT show smooth lp lines....
